It was a compromise since Mayor Bloomberg vetoed a unanimous City Council vote to have boat service at no more than than 30 minutes apart 24/7/365 - forever killing the hated hourly ferries.I think the dispute there was that the MTA would then have to put out their share and have the overnight SI local bus lines and SIR run every 30 minutes too. That would help though, because I was on the 130am ferry last night and every bus leaving St. George at 2am was absolutely packed front to back. And the S53 is always like that overnight too, especially during the summer. |
