The part of that idea that gets to me, is that sense that those same folk complain, moan and groan about subway service that runs once every 20 minutes. As if waiting for a train every 20 minutes was the worst possible thing in the universe, but it is okay for Staten Islanders to wait 60 minutes for crowded ferries. It is the regional unfairness - that it is really bad for "me", but okay for "you".I've always thought the same thing. After 5 minutes of waiting for a train some people start to complain, not even 20. But it's ok for us using the ferry to wait 60 minutes at night. And during the day the ferry is very unpredictable now, they don't run the schedule as punctual as they used to. |
