But didn't the BUDD RDCs have automatic transmissions too? Or were they hydraulic? Something tells me they were mechanical. However, the BUDD SPVs had such jerky transmissions, as those described flexliners do, and they were considered to be duds. Other than that, the bodies of those railcars were well made, and robust, and similar BUDD trailer cars are still in service. |
