But 495 is an odd one. According to the three-digit rule, even first digits represent beltways or loops (full or partial), where odd first digits are meant for spurs or branches that do not return to the originator interstate. 495 is definitely not a loop -- it's more of a branch -- yet it has an even first digit. |
