Actually no.

It is the 20th annivesary of the start of the community. The mall did not open until November 1987 (I was there).

There was development. The building to the left of the PATH station was being built. My company was going to move there from lower Manhattan but Ed Koch came up with a better deal and we wound up in MetroTech in Brooklyn. As it turns out we did move to in Newport but in a different building and 15 years later.
