(Feb. 28, 1976) ![]() #539 [#6079] shows the completed process. (Feb. 28, 1976) ![]() Assembled in Croxton Yard (NJ) are R-46's for their final leg of the journey to NYC. (Oct. 11, 1976) ![]() In Hoboken, NJ with the Twin Towers as a backdrop. (May 3, 1976) ![]() At the car float docks in Brooklyn, NY. Yes, the R-46's had signs for the (EE) but to my knowledge, may never have run there. (June 27, 1976) ![]() I believe this location is City Yard, adjacent to Coney island Yard. (April 1976) ![]() #888 [#5742] after being off loaded from the car float bridge at 50th St & 1st Ave.(Dec. 30, 1976) ![]() At Freemont Jct. where some R-46's were sent to the LIRR for high speed testing. (April 22, 1975) ![]() ![]() For the U.S. Bi-centennial, two R-46's were decked out with stars and stripes. #680 [#6046] was temporarily numbered #1776. The second car to receive this treatment #681 [#5613] was temporarily renumbered as #1976. (June 27, 1976) ![]() The window banner proclaiming this to be the 200th R-46. (June 27, 1976) ![]() I was riding the (B) train on this date and at 9th Ave witnessed the delivery of new R-46's. Luckily I had my camera bag with me to photograph #1162 [#5608] and others.
