As I recall, the Edsel was named for Edsel Ford. IIRC it had push button transmission controls on the steering column which was very problematic.

Correct , and some Chrysler produces, had the push button tranny, the selector box was on dash at the far left. The buttons use fall into the box. You had to get towed to a service shop.
