When I lived on 68th Ave I'd go down to Farmers oval on 65th pl and head twards the BMT ROW and from the street side watch the BMT standards head to Metropolitan Avemake that curve and being a bit below the rail head made for some great photos,no other train came even close to that feeling of power,I wish I kept those photos, also at the end of Farmers oval in the ball field was a steep slope heading down to the RRtracks accross from that tower, we used to dig rocks out from that sloped hill while watching the GG1'S fly by this was around 1957 or so.
