tribute to the Budd Co that their cars are able to last as long as they are as is the case with the oldest silverliners which are also Budd products.

Even older (1962) are the Japanese cousins the Tokyu 7000 series, built by Tokyu Sharyo under Budd's license. Some of them are still in service albeit above ground. They've been overhauled over the years so much you could say they only retain their shells by now.



BTW, Tokyu Group sold its car building Sharyo Company to JR(Japan Railways) last year. So the M4 builders are no more.
