Those are actually 60 footers(18m). That was the standard for Tokyo subway at the time. 18m, three sets of doors. These days, some cars on that line have five sets of doors.Anyway, to list some of the changes the 7000 series have had in their lives: A/C added Roll signs changed to LED Automated announcements Outside speakers Wheelchair space New interior Additional lighting OPTO capability Separate two-handed MC/brakes to single bar control (in fact the whole console was changed) Single arm Pantograph GTO or IGBT controlled VVVF inverters Squirrel-cage rotor three-phase AC motors HSC-R brakes changed to HRA Budd's Pioneer III trucks changed to Tokyu's TS-807 And pretty much everything except the shell. Maybe we could do some of those to the R32. :) |
