Would it make a lot of sense for the picture to show Judah Macabee in battle gear and claim that he was a myth? No, because the Maccabees really did defeat the Greeks, leading to the Hasmonean dynasty over Judea. It would make more sense for the picture to show the Menorah, suggesting that the miracle of the oil lasting for eight days was a myth. I also believe that Jesus walked the earth and had a loyal following. I also think he said many great and wise things and was a good and noble man in a very bad time for the Jewish people. I just don't believe he was any more divine than Moses or King David. Sorry. IMO, Jesus intended for something similar to Chabad, and it was Paul who started the Yechi movement. |

They are attacking Christianity because it's an easy target. Inclusion of Islam and Judaism leaves them open to accusations of being Islamophobic or anti-Semitic. You know that. The fact that Dave Silverman is the President of American Atheists probably has something to do with it too. He could've included other religions in such a diverse part of the country. "It would make more sense for the picture to show the Menorah, suggesting that the miracle of the oil lasting for eight days was a myth."That is a very good point but in the Hanukkah liturgy, the miracle is actually composed of two parts - the Maccabee victory over far superior military forces and the menorah oil burning for eight days. But as far as "myths" are concerned, you are correct, the menorah story would be more likely deemed a myth, as the Maccabee victory is historically verifiable, relatively speaking. |

Yes, we see 'biblical' figures every day in the presesnt too...and if we had the mentality of fourth world countries and no technology today, they would be written about in 'scrpture' too.... |
