Years ago (in the 60's) the best pizza on Long Island was the Sicilian at the old Hempstead Bus Terminal.Now I'd say it's a toss up between Pietro's sesame seed crust pizza and Borelli's, both in East Meadow. Of course if you include Brooklyn as being part of Long Island I'd have to say Spumoni Gardens. |

It's probably not included in that survey. I think it's way too hard to say 'this place has the best pizza on LI". There's SO many pizza places.As for including Brooklyn and Queens, if they did that, it would probably blow many of the Nassau and Suffolk places completely out of the water. It's not as easy as it sounds to find good pizza in Nassau and Suffolk on Long Island. There's plenty of mediocre pizza, and downright bad pizza, but there's not that many that can compare to the city. I would guess most of the ones on that list do. |

Yeah of course I have been to a Pizza Hut. They aren't very prevelant in the NY metro area, as they are elsewhere though. The last time I had Pizza Hut on Long Island was about 2 years ago at a Taco Bell/Pizza Hut. There aren't many stand alone Pizza Huts here as mom and pop pizza places have the market, and are much better. I have Pizza Hut pretty often outside the NY Metro area because I usually don't like the regular pizza outside NY, at least with Pizza Hut you know what you are getting. I like Pizza Huts meat lover's pizza, and love their breadsticks.I don't dislike Pizza Hut, I just like real pizza better. |

I could tell it was a film shoot and not a news crew on the scene. There were actors holding placards and one guy yelling "go back to Mexico, America jobs for Americans". I'm sure you thought of moving out on Long Island with the wife and kid for a "better life". I never knew just how dangerous Long Island really is. Especially when you consider how expensive it is to live out there, and how good the school system is. These stories should happen more often in the City. |
