No big surprise there. The Al Smith dinner is put together to benefit Catholic Charities supporting children of various needs within the Archdiocese of New York. Since her stance on abortion flies in the face of Catholic doctrine, her absence could be explained that way. Note, this is not a justification, just an excuse .

The last presidential candidate to miss the dinner was Walter Mondale. His excuse was to prepare for a debate with Reagan, which was very credible. In hindsight Maybe he should have skipped the debate prep and attended. His debate prep was a waste of time since he lost the election by 49 states winning only Minnesota and the District of Columbia.. Maybe that can be taken as a bad omen for Harris?

But this year, especially. One side has a candidate 1/3 of the country hates, just hearing his name (and are completely triggered). The other side has the most unqualified,completely clueless candidate I've ever seen, and she wasn't even elected to be candidate, she was just thrown into the spot. When she actually ran in primaries, her numbers were dismal. This is what happens when Vice President running Nate's are chosen based on checks in a column of characteristics and what theyook like instead of qualifications, as the Democrats love to do. Than a proof, Democrats just vote for someone because there is a D instead of any sort of qualifications It's absolutely unbelievable this election.
