Maybe. But its highly unusual. The last presidential candidate to miss the dinner was Walter Mondale. His excuse was to prepare for a debate with Reagan, which was very credible. In hindsight Maybe he should have skipped the debate prep and attended. His debate prep was a waste of time since he lost the election by 49 states winning only Minnesota and the District of Columbia.. Maybe that can be taken as a bad omen for Harris?
