If one truly had no mental certainty as to whether he had committed any crimes, then I would agree with you. However, if, hypothetically, one were quite certain (based on everything that has been reported over the last 40 years) that he has stolen large amounts of money from many people, would it not then be OK to want him to be brought to justice for one or more of those crimes? This is of course not a legal question, nor even a moral question. It's just a question of what it is emotionally OK to wish for. |

There is evidence of a smoking gun, courtesy of Rudy Giuliani, who referred to Mueller's attempts to interview President Trump as a "perjury trap".Think about that phrase, "perjury trap". Giuliani is saying his client can't sit down with Mueller, without lying through his teeth. In other words, telling the truth would get him indicted, while lying would get him charged with...perjury. Either Trump obstructed justice (or worse) and has to lie about it, or Trump is worried about something else coming up in the course of Mueller's interview, which he also would feel the need to lie about. This is a man who, for example, criticized Theresa May on video, then called the media "fake news" for reporting that. There is more than a smoking gun. I think Mueller will find a smoking howitzer before it's all over. |

The Mueller investigation has already produced several convictions. Yes, I have been saying this for a year. A year in which the investigation has been steadily proceeding, and in which Trump's own campaign manager is on trial for money laundering involving a pro-Russian head of state. I can't wait to see your head spinning when Mueller reveals what his gumshoes have discovered about Trump. Again, there is too much smoke emanating from the White House, for there not to be a huge, stinking dumpster fire in the Oval Office. |

Trump's entire adult life has been a story of doing horrible, sometimes flagrantly criminal, things, and getting away with them. He knows he will not face the consequences most of us would for similar actions, and you can bet he tested this theory fully very early on in his career.Again, imagine if Obama did, or was suspected of doing, even half the laundry list of sleazebag things Trump is known to have done. What do you think the right would have done to him? |

The only precedent is for subpoenaing documents and tape recordings (Nixon), but different legal standards apply for a subpoena seeking a witness’s live testimony before a grand jury.In 2000 the Office of Legal Counsel drafted a memo stating the Justice Department’s view that the text of the Constitution does not give the president express immunity from prosecution but that the powers of the presidency are so vast and important as to bar the indictment of a sitting president. But this is a memo, not law, so at the end of the day it's just an opinion. |

I did not vote for Trump, but in your blind hatred of all that is Trump you are missing what Giuliani was saying. Bill Clinton was impeached over statements that were technically responsive, but because of the multiple meanings of the question there were other interpretations where it could be called perjury. Rudy Giuliani does not want Trump to face similar questions. |

Clinton was impeached over what should have remained a personal affair between him and Hillary. Trump is suspected of doing actual harm to the United States. Giuliani's "perjury trap" suggests his client cannot discuss his actions without lying about them. That's what you're missing. |

It's also obvious that it won't happen in this cycle, it with the next Ongress next year. It's crystal clear that the investigation is not wrapped up. In order to avoid any variety of scrutiny or accusation of interfering with the election, they won't be until after next January now. This is widely reported, everyone should know this by now.
