Boeing grounded a test article to replace the surging engine, which is neither designed nor manufactured by Boeing. Test planes are, by definition, aircraft flown to discover and correct any hidden deficiencies or design flaws in airframes or powerplants, before the production models start coming off the line. Keep in mind the 787 is designed, as are most commercial jets, to be manufactured with several different types of engines, just like you can order your new car with several different tire options. This engine had a "surge", but guess what, that's not Boeing's fault.

Nice try, Luch, but this is a molehill you're making a mountain out of. Nothing in the article, or the 787-8's history thus far suggests the aircraft itself is "dangerous".
