I think that you underestimate how many Americans (immigrant or not) like soccer and overestimate the rest of the world. Soccer is the most popular sport in the world, but it's not the most popular sport in many countries. For example:China - table tennis Japan - baseball, sumo Canada, Russia(?) - hockey Croatia - basketball(?) India, Pakistan, much of the Caribbean - cricket South Africa, Ireland(?), New Zealand(?) - rugby Isn't speed skating almost as popular in the Netherlands as soccer or is that somewhere else? Norway? |
