Most just think it's a funny sport, no different than Europeans (and other Soccer countries) that find American football hilarious.Bad example. American football is practically non-existent is Europe. OTOH soccer is widely played, followed and talked about in America and the success in the last 20 or so years of the National Team, the viability of a decent pro league and the construction of expensive soccer-specific stadiums demonstrates that. It's obviously not as popular as American football and baseball (nor do they try to be) but the comparison with American football in Europe is risible. |
