Posted by Easy on Sat Nov 21 21:49:17 2009 I walked from Mariachi Plaza to Soto Station and took a few shots along 1st street. Boyle Heights is a really cool neighborhood and I predict that the new rail line will lead to rapid gentrification, which quite frankly will be a good thing.Most of 1st street looks like this. The main retail area for Boyle Heights is on Cesar Chavez (2 blocks north). 1st Street is somewhat busy, but not very.  Artwork on a music store.  Ok. That's it. That's pretty much what Boyle Heights looks like. :)  Freeways have really harmed the neighborhoods. On one side of the freeway is this.  Then the freeway.  And then this. Where Brooklyn at?  Tiny parking lot by LA standards. Or anyones standards.     What's wrong with this content?  Tiny but cool park where old guys come and play chess.
