But they weren't designed to be hit with fully loaded modern passenger jets full of jet fuel. The outside walls were the support. The floors were held up on the outside of the building, when the upper floors gave way, they floor by floor put stress on the floor beneath it, and the support gave way floor by floor, like a house of cards would fall down if you started pushing down on the top. Each floor pancaked to the one beneath it, and the floor beneath it until the whole building collapsed. |
