The fuel ignigted and burned, but as ytou state, it would burn very quickly; however, it also ignited 'fireproof' materials in the offices, and these burned contuinuously. It was the constant heat that had the effect, not the just the temperature of the flames.The plane hitting the building certainly changed the outcome, as the collisions destroyed or damaged a number of supporting columns. Skyscrapers have burned before. One Meridian Plaza The building did not collapse, but it was later dismantled. |
