People thinking that SS is a "government handout" is just ignorant. Last time I checked, people pay into Social Security ( and Railroad Retirement). It will always be around because I'm sure members of congress have family members that rely on it. It will never become insolvent. If the fund needs $$$, Uncle Sam will just print out more $$$
