I retired from Metro North at 60 with 38 years of service with full pension(s) with the condition of surrendering the Vanguard investment account that MN set up. If you kept your Vanguard, you had to work until 63. This was agreed to by both sides at the bargaining table. Either way, you kept your medical coverage until you reached 65.
They were more than happy to see guys (and girls) like me go.
Our replacements would be a new hires off the street being paid 70% of full salary for the first 5 years w/o any pension plan. They set you up with a 401K as a pension replacement.
Point being, IMO its safe to assume that companies would be completely against extending the retirement age beyond 65. They want to get rid of the "old timers" with new kids that they can pay them much less than the folks they are replacing with minimal benefits.
