The higher firearms death rate and presumably the suicide rate result from the fact that firearms are a much bigger part of people's lives.

Which is why I can't comprehend why many Second Amendment enthusiasts can't at least get behind mandatory gun safety training.

Cars are very dangerous and a huge part of almost everyone's lives, but per hour of use they are very safe. Guns could be so much safer per hour of use than they actually are.
