Physical obstacles like huge walls are immoral for a country whose philosophy is one of freedom. Granted, illegal immigration must be addressed, but a barrier whose visual message is one of hostility, is not morally correct or fiscally prudent.

Suggesting alternative strategies for dealing with illegal immigration doesn't contradict that.
