More to the point, absent an EDL, most American citizens don't carry birth certificates or passports with them in normal circumstances. Suppose a vigilante looking for an easy payday starts accosting Hispanic-looking people at the local Walmart or public park? Unable to immediately prove citizenship, but being held for ICE at gunpoint, what happens when a citizen challenges the vigilante and gets shot?A "bounty system" in this gun-obsessed, racially mad society, would get real ugly, real fast. |
