This is a whole new time, cameras don't do shyt if these folks are going to destroy a transit vehicle, they will do it regardless and this is just a sad fact. People just don't give a damn anymore and this sucks. High Floor buses are not obsolete, they have their place just as much as Low Floor buses do. Low Floor buses just like High Floor buses have trade off's for their features, but the biggest problem for a low floor is capacity and this is the problem we are experiencing here in NYC. We have way too much ridership to purchase so many low floors, we need more high floors of both 40 and 60 foot lengths. I would like to see NJT purchase some 45ft low floors and 40 footers also for some of the lower ridership lines and moderate ridership lines as well.NJT is smart to replace high floor for high floor suburbans and transits for these lines they are on, I hope they can get these problems resolved with NABI but NJT brought this on themselves in totally changing the core design of a proven bus to accommodate their policy of parts interchangeability, that comes with a price and we are watching that unfold right now. Sorry give me the 20 year old crap any day it is proven technology that works and provides on time service. Too much technology in a vehicle especially a transit bus is just asking for trouble and the passengers wind up paying the price in more ways than one. |
