Nearly 40 years ago, on Bastille Day, my wife and I had our first date. We went to Chinatown so we didn't have a Kosher meal. All marriages have ups and downs but on the whole, I believe that I made the right choice. Being the first inter-faith marriage in my family, there was a bit of resistance but I still remember my grandfather, Fred, telling me to sXXXw anyone who wasn't happy for us.The holidays never really presented any problems for us. We observed and respected each other's traditions. I suppose that there would have been problems if I wanted to keep a Kosher home, though as my wife loves shrimp etc. |
