Well, we I was a boy, the recording at Union Square on the Lexington was a man who sounded like a gangster saying, "Please stand clear of the moving platform as trains enter and leave the station." Last time I was there the voice was that of a woman with the tiniest bit of a Latin American accent. In 50 years, it will be a simulation of the voice of the most recent person to enter using his ID card in the 3rd turnstile (assuming there will even be turnstiles). |

The advantage of the RFID chip is that it will be easier to put voices in people's heads. Transit Museum's Nostalgia trip features R-160'sI wonder if any new tech trains will be kept for the museum. If anything, an R-142 or 142A might be kept as an example of the first equipment of its type ever to be used in the system. Even at that, can they run as a two-car set? But two cars may rule out fantrips. I can't see them wasting space for a full five cars, especially with all of the other lists being made up of equipment "worth" keeping. |

The R-110s were the first new tech, but they saw fairly little use compared to the R-142/A's which also represent a design that will soon be the look of a good part of the system. An R-44 or 46 and an R-142/A should be kept for display, but for practical reasons it might not be possible to keep them operable. A Franklin Ave Shuttle set seems like an obvious choice for the R-68s, but it would be nice to have real rollsigns in place rather than those place-boards -nitpick-. |

Every station is renamed to a corporate sponsor. Most Vicker's style mosaic tabledt are covered with ugly sigs like McDonalds/96th Street or Continental Airlines/Forest Hills. 4. TM has summer fantrips using the R160 cars. The rest of the museum fleet is sent up the river on a weeks barge, including 100, 381, 484, 1575 and the like. 5. The G line runs every hour. |
