Thanks!I don't think the signs are displaying anything meaningful. The last time I checked, they were displaying "Safety's [sic] First" messages about not running on the platform, being careful on escalators, et cetera. However, I've noticed that they use them to display weekend service changes and schedule adjustments sometimes. |

Since cell phones don't work in the subway how are you supposed to call security? You should use the emergency intercoms located on the platform.And speaking of stuff that doesn't make sense I've read on other forums that Metro now only sells TAP cards for monthly passes. You can still buy a paper pass at the other places where passes are sold, but it's just TAP at Union Station. What doesn't make sense is that the fare checkers don't yet have the machines to read whether or not you tapped in. Anyone in possession of a TAP card can now ride trains (not buses) for free whether or not the card has value. And even when fare checkers get the machines how are they going to be able to check everyone on the train? Now I see why Metro is saying that TAP won't work without fare gates. Somehow they paid Cubic millions of dollars to study TAP and then millions more to install it, yet weren't told until after it was installed that it won't work. Now they are paying millions of dollars for Cubic to upgrade TAP and install fare gates. For some reason this reminds me of the Simpson's monorail episode. ;) |

I finally saw it running today. Like you said it wasn't in service and I just managed to catch it headed back to the yard. I was on a train headed in the opposite direction so I didn't get to see much. :(On the way back home on the blue line our T/O got fairly upset about some chick taking a video of the train headed into the Slauson stop. He told her to stop shooting video over the PA and threatened to call the Sheriff. She must have started again because he stopped the train after we pulled a few feet out and made even more threats. When I got off at Wardlow I tapped on the window and asked him if there was a new rule. When he responded that you're not allowed to do that because of 9/11 I pointed out that Metro's draft rules of conduct allow personal photography. He thought for a minute and said that he didn't like people photographing the trains. I'm kind of surprised because he's never said anything to me before and I see him all the time. |

I saw the Breda on the gold line today. But I was on the blue line on the way home when the T/O was complaining about video. I was surprised to hear the T/O go off the way that he did. I always think of him as a nice guy ever since he held the train while my daughters and I got our tickets out the TVM years ago. I've noticed that he holds the train for a few seconds whenever people are trying to catch it. Very few of the other T/O's will do that. |

I couldn't let that go for a number of reasons. Mostly I don't want to have any trouble if I snap a picture or have someone call the Sheriff based on some non-existent rule.Another weird thing that they were doing was kicking everyone off the red/purple line trains at the last stop and not letting people board until they made sure that no one was on the train. I guess that they do that to get the homeless off. That must be what I've heard called "fumigating" here. I'd never seen it in LA. Not without the train going onto the non-revenue track like it does during rush hour. |

You can see a Breda car at the Hawthorne Yard of the Green Line. It had been moved from a track at the North side of the yard (against the fence). It now sits near Aviation Blvd. It is partialy wrapped with a blue tarp. All it needs is a big bow and it is ready to be shipped. Lately there have been some fire trucks doing what looked like inspecting something or other. I have taken some pictures but don't know how to forward it to Subchat.
