Don't worry, even after all the 160A-1s are in service, ENY will still need a few R-42 sets (unless I miscalculated). You gotta figure that the L will be all NTT (b/c of CBTC), probably the M (since they use the 143s for weekend OPTO now, makes sense to give them 160s), which leaves a few R-42s for the J/Z. Probably would run rush hours only, at most weekdays only. But I could be (and probably am wrong). Anyone have a count of exactly how many 42s are currently assigned to ENY? (the subway roster at utcny.org is 2 years out of date). |
