Now they've been certainly been on every line.They're a mainstay on the 1, 7, and S. They ran on the 3, 5, and 6 in the past, and I've seen a couple of them on the 2 during one G/O, and now they're on the 4. What next? R62's on the 7? R142A's on the 1? R160's on the Staten Island Railway? |

I saw that set of R62As this morning. I was kind of suprised also about it, especially since last Friday I rode on a set of R142As on the 4 that were borrowed from the 6 line. And I just saw it again a few minutes ago, running on the middle track southbound past Mt. Eden Avenue.Not to raise speculation or anything...but since the new Corona Barn is complete and the construction of the yard loop is being done, could these car swaps being done in the last several weeks be a result of a major car swap? Is the MTA ready to move some R142/142A cars to the 7? |

Dude, you said that there's a R62A set on the 4? (1886-90 and 2321-25)? Well...there's another! This set is the following:(N) 2390-89-88-87-86 + 2465-64-63-62-61 (S) The set was heading Manhattan-bound, stopping at Mt. Eden Avenue at 5:10pm this evening. Saw it through my room window. So now there 2 sets of R62As on the 4 running. To add to that, there's a R62 set from the 3 running here on the 4 as well: (N) 1415-14-13-12-11 + 1511-12-13-14-15 (S) Passed by Manhattan-bound about 15 minutes before the R62A did. |

They haven't even ordered the 47 single unit cars and it makes NO SENSE to cut up 5 car sets into 6-cars leaving 4 unused sets. That's why until there are the single cars on property this move at most would be 1 set for testing - that is all. |

I forgot about those lines, that idea seems reasonable. I actually like that idea a great deal, it seems as if it would work out nicely. You would still have the R44s from the (A) if the R160Bs land on that line and the extra R42s from the J, M and Z from the R160A-1s. |

I'm wondering the same thing too. That set on the 4 was a very crazy sight this morning. The next thing may be an R142 on the 3...if they can put 7411-7415 on the 4, then it can happen. I guess these weird happenings are just normal for the next few months. |

Whenever a non assigned car comes onto a line, why is it either the car assignment police of SubTalk come out en masse or the rest of them get a mental erection? How many time do you guys have to be told that NYCT needs X number of trains on every line to provide full service? Sometimes cars from other lines fill in where needed. This does not phase the average rider. But how many average people do we have here? |
