Certainly likely to be useful, but the one mile price is more than the whole project should cost if a. were designed not to waste money, b. no graft/grift built into thescheduling and timing of the work. Ever since the building of BART promised at $792 million, came in closer to $2,3 Billion, and with built in dysfunctional hardware.Essentially, transit projects are an extension of DoD purchasing--patronage distribution with $72 allen wrenchs. |

The crowding on the Lex Local was due to not operating a sufficient number of trains.The MTA has a certain acceptable crowding level. If crowding is reduced, the MTA will decrease the number of trains to bring crowding back up to that level. |
