I believe it was the R-46's and not the R-44's that had this feature. There was button or switch by the end storm door that you could unlock the door in an emergency.Someone figured this out and word got around and people were using this button to unlock the end door. When the TA found this out, they either placed a stainless steel plate over the button or removed the button and plated it over. During this time, did anyone fall between the cars after defeating this feature ? Bill Newkirk |

When the doors opened people, including the wounded, scrambled out of the train car and billows if smoke also came out from the train car. |

Channel 2's text at the bottom of the screen kept on mentioning that the train went to the next stop (34th Street) instead of listing the station as 36th Street, implying the gunman got on at 25th Street and starting shooting between 25th and 36th Street on an R train (making the train heading towards 95th Street and not Manhattan. |

Ever try & walk between cars on Metro-North when its going thru switches just north of GCT? Theres serious overhang & gaps in the buffers on those 85ft cars, especially the shoreliners.
