The main perp was harassing a Jewish passenger and somehow got into a verbal confrontation and when the passenger took his picture with his phone, grabbed the phone to delete the picture (at least according to the Daily News article) and then the passenger got the attention of the conductor and the police arrived to arrest the perp, a self proclaimed Muslim.And then out came all the phones and the results you saw by the animals. |

If I was one of the cops, I would have had the conductor close up the doors especially early on when the crowd was largely outside the train. And if the train was New Lots bound, then they should have just taken the perp one stop to Franklin where there is a TD. |

Plus, I wouldn't be surprised if the cells replaced their land lines. Cell phones/smartphones are practically a must these days in many circles, if they want to communicate with friends and family. |

Nah... three and a half minutes is excellent.Out here the other officer might be at the other end of the county. A 45 minute response time is not unusual. North Dakota Patrol does not operate 24/7, there are hours at night when no state officer is on duty anywhere in the state. A call to 911 (answered by state radio) goes out to the officer on call, who obviously enough is sleeping in his bed. Sheriffs office too sleeps at night, only city police departments are up 24/7 and that depends on the city. Some cities hire an officer Tuesday through Saturday (evenings) and calls at other times go to the county sheriffs office. Three and a half minuted is darn fast. He must have already been in the station. or on the way in response to the first call. ROAR |

Depends on the carrier, and whether you are getting the latest model or an older one. Otherwise, I don't really know since I do very little shopping for cell phones, but I figure the cost is considerably higher than a simple landline, but less than a standard cable/internet package. |
