People? He asked ME to count the cars. I'm only one person.

I don't think that he was serious, but no it can't be done by one person.

Anyway the point is probably moot because no matter how many people tailgate at the NMS there wouldn't be that same amount tailgating in LA or almost anywhere else that built an urban stadium. The question is would fans still show up and I think that the answer is yes.

I wasn't. Sorry for the confusion.

I was attempting to be light about this, because I don't think there is an easy answer without data. You have one opinion and I have another.

Also, many of the worst jams can be avoided by simply getting off and using parallel local streets. It seems that Cross Bronx jams tend not to spill onto the local streets the way jams on other area roads do. I suspect this is because so much of the traffic is trucks -- which may not be able to take local streets -- and also because much of the auto traffic that is just passing through between New England and New Jersey is afraid to get off the highway in the "dangerous" Bronx. (to be fair, I'm not sure I would have been nearly as adventurous driving in the area 25-30 years ago).

Yes, but his "opinion" is based on some actual research that I know he has.

Yes, a few times when the Cross Bronx was REALLY bad (like LITERALLY you are only moving a cars length every couple minutes), I have gotten off and taken Tremont Ave.

You're right that there is no easy answer. That's why I provided a range of 40% to 65% way back in the beginning of this discussion. That is about what I have observed based on all of my observations. Observations, I add, that are many many many many more hours than you have done.

Or, as I would have done, put the monuments back in play like they were through the 1973 season (in a way where a fence could have been put around them for football).
