Route of the NYC-ACE "ACES train"?

I picked up a timetable for the Atlantic City-Penn nine-RT-a-week. train. It is run by NJT (they say) though ticketed through Amtrak.

My question is, it makes the run in about 2:40 or so, one stop in Newark. It seems to me it couldn't make that time running to PHL 30th Street and then to AC. Anyone know what route it takes? I assume the middle part of the run is on normally non-passenger trackage.
