If I may answer this, I have taken it twice in both directions, the ride down the NE Corridor is great, running most of the way down from Newark into Frankford Junction at a good speed, flying by every stop and leaving the locals and even some Amtrak trains in its dust. The ride after the engine power switch at Frankford via the ACL can at times be a bit sluggish through the sidings as local ACL trains past, but it is very scenic, best of both worlds in terms of railfanning. The service is very dead on, with a nice, spacious seat, good ambiance, and very social scene if you are into that - personally, I do not think it is worth the first class ticket price, as in most cases, those in coach will also get at-seat service by an attendant for food and beverages - but if not, it's still convenient for you to go up and get what you want. Also the food is of good quality, the drinks are a bit expensive, but what do you expect? The only real advantage of first class is much less people and a better view from up top, so it's up to you...also the rail transfer at the Atlantic City Rail Station (operated ironically by Academy Bus, the major line-run bus operator to AC), is on-time and in style on the coaches the sports teams use (the Mercedes Benz Setra) and drops you off at the hotel entrance (Borgata and Harrahs) and at the bus station at Caesars.

It's something worth experiencing in my opinion.
