Not for a lot of people:

There is a world of difference as I recall down there between 8th (St. Mark's Place) and 3rd street, especially on 2nd Avenue. The more touristy part of that area is 7th-11th street as I recall, and even with the short distance, it would make much more sense to have the extra stop at St. Marks on that account alone.
