It was part of the whole grade elimination project that went through Richmond Hill. It was an absolute necessity. Can you imagine Jamaica Ave with a grade crossing? Not to mention, that it was necessary because of the trolleys that used to run on Jamaica Ave. When it was grade eliminated, the new station was high level. It would have been silly to have a low level platform on an elevated structure. |
