One day, East New York will be known as a desirable place to live. Not that it doesn't deserve respect now. But people with money have to go somewhere. Long range, the transportation and location benefits will be "discovered" again. It sure the hell is a rail haven, with a two track elevated crossing over a three track elevated, a four track subway and a two track high speed street level/"tunnel" railroad line. Thas some powerful mojo.

I do like the LIRR station there. It's so...eclectic. It surely is well preserved, and the street level aspect to it is unique. Interesting that from a land-locked core Brooklyn neighborhood you can step right onto the platform from the sidewalk, and board a train to the more relaxed precincts further out on the Island. Perfect scenario for a train ride; from the dense streets and elevated tracks and industrial landscape to houses and yards and trees and fields. And vice versa.

(Yeah, I know, this experience is duplicated all over the metro area. Well, we talking about Brooklyn here, so...)
