IIRC the PRR had a few thru trains to Montauk about 100 years ago. Today, in the summertime it just wouldn't work. Not enough track capacity with all those existing LIRR summer extras. AFAIK its single track from Speonk to Montauk with scattered passing sidings. Just not enough track. |
