The freight RRs need to get with the program

It's not their program to get on. It's the feds and their myriad of regulations that make it incredibly onerous and unrealistic. You really think that freight railroads ought to be forced to pay out of pocket for track and signaling requirements that not even Amtrak can uphold on the NEC, even with this alleged cash infusion (where the value of money keeps going further and further down)?!? or any other rails under Amtrak ownership? Try forcing Metro-North and ConnDOT to upgrade the New Haven Line to Class 8 track and ACSES signaling too.
