Unusual for a passenger line to be terminated during WWII. The NYC Board of Transportation took over a year to convince the Federal Office of Defense Transportation that the Brooklyn Bridge tracks would be used for streetcars, before it okayed the Park Row, Sands St, and Adams St el removals.
