My guess is that they convinced the ODT that the steel could be better used in the war effort. Besides, ridership from Queens had declined after the Oct 27th, 1940 closing of the 1939 World's Fair. Almost 6 months later, on May 19th, 1941, late night (from 9:30PM-12:30AM) and Sunday service ended. |
