SDY and ROC are low platform. SDY got the waiver to not get high platforms as the station is on a curve, so it will never have an issue.SYR has a mini-low which is used when trains can't use the platform track - the Superliners stop there when needed. Pittsfield was renovated but only has a low platform (due to freight). Springfield also low, might be getting high as part of the CDOT commuter rail project, but plenty of room for low platform there. Worcester has a high platform only, but the old low platform is still present past the end and forms part of a walkway to a parking lot. Just need to tear down the fence. Framingham and Back bay are low platform. BOS is the only problem station, but I don't think it's insurmountable. They're planning on expanding the station and with that they could put in one low platform. |
