The Superliners are impressive cars. I'd really hate to lose the ability to run them through upstate NY, and it's really not that hard to keep the stations compatible.As for Rochester, unless it's an island platform they'll likely have the same setup as Syracuse - a mini-low. If an Amtrak is on the far track for whatever reason, people need to get to the train somehow, and that same provision keeps it Superliner-friendly. |
