That's not an effective method to finding a westbound rfw.

I would ask on a forum of CT commuters which trains in the past few weeks have consistently had non m- 8s. Note that due to the impending timetable change, that method would only valid for the rest of this week.

Another option is to go to GCT and ask each crew of a non m8 NHL train if they and their train turn and come back.
