Actually, that problem is with the person who did the coding for OpenBVE. She abandoned the project and our guys here are trying to maintain it. The problem is that BVE (and OpenBVE) are written in Microsoft "dotNET" and other Microsoft stuff. The EMULATION for dotNET on other platforms is shaky at best. Linux, OSX and even our KNOS product end up having to run it on MONO and VALA libraries instead of Microsoft's and both of those are incomplete owing to patent issues.

But OpenBVE was somebody's hobby activity and is as good as it gets unless there's resources available to pick up the ball and run with it some more. I wanted to include it in our KNOS OS, but the amount of work required to finish it for such a small audience is prohibitive.
