When they were in their old age, they were insufferable. Rolling ovens, decrepit, and in some cases outright disgusting. The 1500-1802 series were particularly bad with the fiberglas seats. They are gone now, but it's our nostalgia that makes us miss them. When you were standing in a crush-loaded R-6 on the "F" line, you wished you were anywhere else but where you were. As museum pieces they are charming.The R-1 and R-4 were slightly different than the others in terms of some of the fittings. The R-6-2 had slightly different trims and fittings than did the R-6-1 and R-6-3 as well as different fans. wayne |
